2023 Bike-A-Thon
Board Members Scott and Yaneth Spaine organized the Second Annual UOCO Bike-a-Thon in Arlington, Virginia. We had an anonymous donor match and raised well over $2000 this year.
2023 Juneteenth
On Saturday, June 17, Mary Grace and Rev. Frank Lewis joined Rev. April Taylor for the annual Juneteenth Event at James Madison’s Montpelier in Orange, VA. The annual event is in recognition of the African-American story and the significance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the USA. This year the funds raised at the event were modest, about $170, but there is potential for this annual event to be a great outreach tool and fundraiser for UOCO. Plus, the Juneteenth event is a lot of fun!
Antioch Art Camp
UOCO VP, Rev. Frank D. Lewis, Sr, notes the blessings of these donations and stresses the importance of continued fundraising so that we can cover continuing, general expenses. To that end, Antioch Church youth department held an art camp during the summer. Besides stellar child care and good fun, the camp raised $920 for UOCO. Antioch’s Missions Department will continue to provide donations. Let’s keep up the fundraising for our support of these children.
